Empowering young men (aged 12-16 years) through discipline, wellbeing, and life skills.
The Parks Mentoring Project is a youth development program designed to inspire, guide, and equip young men with the tools they need to succeed. Led by an experienced coach and mentor with over a decade of experience in youth sport, a background in Health and Social Science, and training in Counselling and Psychotherapy, this program blends discipline with the emotional intelligence and resilience needed for real life.
Each week, sessions focus on three key areas of personal growth:
1. Health & Mental Wellbeing: Promoting self-awareness, confidence, and positive mental health through open discussions, mindfulness, and movement. Young men learn to understand their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy habits that support their overall wellbeing.
2. Creativity & Expression: Encouraging imagination, teamwork, and self-expression through engaging activities that help participants find their voice and explore their potential beyond sport.
3. Life Skills for a Better Future:
Developing practical tools for success — including goal-setting, emotional control, building healthy relationships, communication skills, and personal responsibility. These lessons prepare young men to make confident decisions and take ownership of their future.
Through mentorship, encouragement, and accountability, The Parks Mentoring Project creates a safe and supportive space where young men can grow in confidence, character, and purpose — becoming strong, balanced, and capable men of tomorrow.
We hosted a weekly youth club for boys in school years 7-11 in Ponders End, Enfield.
We had regular activities including football, basketball, boxing, table tennis, table football, swing ball, card games and much more.
Our aim was to give our young boys a safe and welcoming space to relax and make friends.
We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery for funding this very worthwhile project.

We recently held a Parks Young Lives tournament for local teams within our community. This was a great opportunity to bring young boys together during the Easter half term break to enjoy a bit of friendly competition and socialise with people their own age from their community in a safe environment. Our aim with initiatives like this is to help foster a greater sense of community amongst our young people and to encourage new friendships.
Thank you to everyone who made this day possible.
